Vehicle owners take good care of their vehicles. They ensure that there appears no scratch on the vehicles, and that, they are always in a clean condition. Tire storage is not something that is taken seriously by many despite knowing that a vehicle's performance and safety depends on tires. The tires are stored away wherever there is some space available for them, which is not the proper way to store tires. The tires must be stored in such a way that one does not complain later about performance; deterioration in appearance; and also loss in compound integrity.
Tires also require particular care and they should be stored in cool, dark and dry room. The sunlight or any kind of artificial light should not directly fall on them, and also the storage room should not be wet or humid. The tire storage room should be well-ventilated, but with minimum circulation of air. Also, the tires cannot be stored in rooms where they come in contact with harmful solvents, oil or grease. It's a bad idea to store tires on heat-absorbent surfaces such as black asphalt, and also storage near reflective surfaces must be totally avoided. The rule of thumb says that tires should be stored in an upright position to prevent any kind of distortion.
